About This Course

Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest natural healing systems, originating in India over 5,000 years ago. Both yoga and Ayurveda come from the common ground of Samkhya philosophy. The goal of both is to eradicate pain and suffering. In this course, you will learn about the history and philosophy of Ayurveda through Samkhya philosophy, the three Gunas, the five great elements, and the Tri-Dosha theory of (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

Understanding Samkhya’s philosophy is essential for comprehending Ayurveda’s approach to the mind-body connection and the causes of imbalance and disease. Through this course, you will gain a deeper appreciation for how Ayurveda integrates philosophy and science to offer a holistic approach to wellness, laying a solid foundation for further studies in Ayurvedic medicine.
